About the role
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager – DevOps, the Junior Engineer – DevOps will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
You are required to have prior experience in Software Development and DevOps. As the Junior Engineer – DevOps, you will collaborate closely with solution architects, the engineering team, project managers and the infrastructure team to launch new features/applications and drive enhancements to existing products.

Responsibilities | What you’ll do
The Junior Engineer – DevOps will be a part of our new DevOps team bringing a wealth of experience building and scaling services in a cloud environment. In addition, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of software releases to various environments
- Supporting the automation and management of infrastructure and application configurations using tools like Helm and Terraform.
- Collaborating with development teams to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including build automation, testing, and deployment.
- Assisting in setting up and maintaining monitoring tools to ensure system health and reliability. Responding to and troubleshooting incidents or alerts.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams (developers, infrastructure engineers, testers) to facilitate effective collaboration
- Assisting in identifying and resolving issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and performance bottlenecks.
- Actively participating in team meetings, providing insights, suggestions, and ideas for improving processes and infrastructure.
